Once more I have met with the Warden of Waters, named Giselher Aldorn. He was the first man here to show me kindness when I first came here. Since last I have seen him his name has grown in renown and honor. Yet he seems to be aware of so little of it that he never shows any pride in his deeds. I understand this is considered to be a virtue in these lands.<\/p>\n
By now I have also met his wife. She says she has married him only for love. Says she needed no other benefit to come from her husband. There was no intention of sharing a burden. Of finding more honor. But love in itself seems such a weak reason to share water. Is she not to ease her husbands pain? Is he not to help her carry her burden? Do they not carry their weight together? And if none of that is the case, then I must wonder – am I of so little use to you as well? I had hoped to be more than a pointless pet. And I believe to have seen that in your eyes. Yet if it is just this: If it is merely love, then I must know. So that I may know of my own lack of worthyness to you.<\/p>\n
Also I have met the servant of Giselher Aldorn. Met him in times of deepest loss. For he had to bid the woman he loves farewell. I understand this is what must happen to those who find one another for no other reason than love. Love in itself can not last. It requires earth and water and sun and moon in order to flourish. He has eyes of water. The waters of your home, Ithil.<\/p>\n
Then there was a man, one of the Ancient Father of the Waters of Minas Faer, who called C\u00farons\u00fbl a liar. But I heeded your orders and refrained from taking his water. I admit that I felt the urge to, him having violated my honor in such a way. But I would never betray your name in such manner.<\/p>\n
The wife of Giselher Aldorn also explained to me once more the importance of having an heir. Understanding this you must feel so very relieved. It is a great honor to have been of service to your name. Said woman also requested that I stop referring to the City of Wasted Waters by that name. Therefore I have pledged to find another name for it, though I can hardly conceive a better one. Yet I must try. I have given my word.<\/p>\n
One thing never changes… When they do not understand the words that are spoken, they still think you to be a fool. That is an advantage here. I shall remain the perceived fool for as long as it benefit or you tell me otherwise. For now, it is for the best.<\/p>\n
