In my time I have seen a fair share of crazy. And with some clans that is just what you expect. Though chances are at least half of it is an act to throw everyone else off-guard. Perhaps more than that. I know I’d do just that were I one of them. But at the last gathering things got a bit out of hand.
When I got there I thought that the night would be dedicated to think of those people the domain had lost in the last battle. I thought that it would be a rather depressing evening, so I was thoughtful enough to dress at least a bit more toned down than usual. And secondly I prepared for an evening that would either bore me to death or one I would have to spend cheering people up.
Imagine the disappointment!
It took the whole bunch of them less than an hour to make me desperate. There was a Malkavian who talked perfect nonsense, being perfectly aware of the fact and still going on about it. Much to my delight people couldn’t remember his name, despite having met him a couple of times before. I feigned sympathy.
Then there was a member of the clan of kings who – how shall I put this? – impresses by being not being impressive at all. Obviously he is confused about his own heritage. And then there is his colleague, who at least has some sense of humor and enough of a mind to know that I can outwit him at any given time. Will have to bring him coke and mentos next time we meet. Also I will advise him to go through with the experiment elsewhere.
The prince herself is charismatic in her own way. She knows how to choose her words. For the time being I would not try and touch her mask of perfection, even though I know it’s something she has to put up for the general public. Anyone smart enough to count to five, however, should be perfectly aware that perfection is out of the prince’s reach for the moment. This sympathy wasn’t feigned. So I offered help. Not sure I’ll be permitted to do it at all.
As for my own blood? Stuck on fighting over things nobody should be fighting over right now. People in power sometimes lack the ability to plan ahead. Or think outside their particular box. There’s still hope. I’ve seen a few representatives of my clan that will very much be worth my while.
Made some suggestions. Nothing more than games to make a connection.
Need to charge up my phone now. I’ll need the battery for more tetris on Thursday, I bet.
