Prospects

After having spent some time here I must revise my original outlook on Westerners considerably. They are, after all, not as vain as is said back home.

Phil is doing better and better every morning. By now his stamina is remarkable, considering that he is just one man. Soon those morning runs into the woods will not make him break to sweat much anymore.

Sadly I have not heard from Diana again. Her generosity was overwhelming, yet I fear I must have done something to no longer deserve her friendship. Perhaps the man who is promised to her can enlighten me on the matter. I do not wish to make an enemy of her and hope wholeheartedly that I have not already done so. Perhaps I should also ask Phil about this…

But the reason for me to be here is another. It is interesting to see that still there is no war raging here. At least none that is obvious. I do stay alert, but there is no greater such conflict that I have detected up to now. Perhaps this place does hold the solution for our worries back home. More than ever I have reason to hope. Perhaps I should consult with the spirits again.
