Shout

The last gathering was one of a kind in one way or two. There was an elder present who behaved anything but like one. Very sad to see. They say my blood is adaptable. They say we can adjust to almost anything. And here we had someone who had seen the throws of history, seemingly remembering none of it. For if he did, how could he have sat there, not having a care in the world. Just for being fortunate enough to have lived through it all? If so, he is unaware that most of that is due to chance. Not talent. No matter how talented you are, you are still likely to cross someone some day.

By assuming his role as primogen Simon has done just that. Took his predecessor no more than a week to come back on stage and start accusing him of basically anything you can accuse a man of in our society. Except perhaps for flat out intending to overthrow the prince. Had people given her enough time I’m pretty sure she would have done that as well.

The subject of etiquette came up again. I. Can’t. Stand. This. Yes, I’ve been bred and raised to be able to do the proper bows at the right time. But most of the time I either don’t want to – or I suffer from being incapable of doing so because low vision won’t have it. How is anyone to greet people in the perfect order when you’re not even able to look down at your toes? I’d like to see the rest try. Really! That’d be a good laugh.

Either way. Alena seems to be a good choice to have an eye on that. Alessandro won’t need me to tell him that. Coraline… I suppose it’s best to give her some minor task and hope she feels needed enough with it. She still screws up a lot. There’s no way to tell how long Alessandro’s patience will last. I’m guessing he’s running low as we speak. As for Jason… Man, I’ve never seen a guy bend like this. Still not quite sure what to make of it. It’s not in our nature to trust anyone. For the time being, however, he deserves the benefit of the doubt, much more than most of the others.

Lost it with Alix. Honestly, if she’d kept speaking and I stayed in there I would have ripped her throat out. Nothing I usually do. I don’t get angry. Something must have changed… I’ll have to try and figure out what.

Not that this’d be the only thing I need to figure out. There’s still Simon’s plans. Hel’s too. And lord knows I can’t forget about the thing I need to do for the clan. A little more preparation for that… As soon as Shiraz gets his ass up that’ll be much easier.

Mental Note: Have a word or two with Sanders. Her neglecting to pass on information is making my job all the harder, even though it’s her clean-up I’m doing. Well, thanks for nothing.
