Right. So the one person we actually need to show up ends up not showing up at all. Thanks, Freddy, for a complete waste of my time. Next week will be the day then. Alena seems to have chosen her side. But Coraline, same as ever, seems undecided. More leaning towards Freddy. Fine. I’m not going to tell her she’s plotting her own demise there.

We actually have people around who don’t even have an ID. That is just plain stupid. And I hate stupid. There’s laws around here that require people to carry identification on them at all times. And it’s just a matter of time till you run into some cop who’ll ask for it. So why the hell are you being such idiots?

Despite the whole storm stomped up by Freddy Jason seems to be pretty relaxed. Don’t think that he is. He’s clever enough to play his cards well though. And I’ll keep word and have his back as best I can. It’s a good thing that Alessandro agrees with me on this thing. He could have decided to ignore the whole matter. But he didn’t. Ha!

Something bothers me though… Last night the prince attacked one of the primogen… And right before the door closed behind them she said “I didn’t want to do this. You don’t get it, Sparkle.”. Now, the others think that the first sentence relates to the prince explaining that she had to slay two Brujah some time ago. I’m not so sure about that though… What if she meant that she didn’t mean to attack the primogen? And if that is true… Then who is watching out for her? Who’s trying to help her keep her humanity? Does she have anyone she would rely on in emotional matters? The woman is old, pig-headed – but a remarkably good prince as far as I can tell. So I’ve asked for a private audience… Not sure if she’ll grant it. Not sure if she’d even care that someone decided to stand up for her, even if it’s a person who can’t be of any particular use to her.

This might cost me my head eventually. Jason was right in saying that this is the wrong domain – and at the same time the right one. The only challenge worth fighting for…
