So much to do and so little time! I’d better get to it and write this down.
Still have to meet with the prince, if she’ll have me. Which seems to be the most important question as of late: who’d have me? There’s a date I have with Baumgartner some time soon. And then Alessandro made me curious… I’ve never had a date with someone like him. So! I’ll try my best and talk him into one of those as well. Curiosity killed the cat, I know. Sue me.
What pissed me off most was the discussion about my actual name. They did manage to guess my first name right, though going from Nate to Nathaniel doesn’t exactly require you to be Einstein to figure it out. Of course the guy who pretended to be a shrink had a say in that. He was just as annoying as the guy Shiraz brought some time ago. Either way. At least Doc had the grace to drop the subject once he noticed that it wasn’t helping him to remain on my good side.
Whatever Jason and I are trying to do to support this domain, it seems to be utterly in vain. Patrolling the bars didn’t really help. Nor do our tours to the castle. Instead some guy is found. Obviously got attacked. On our turf, no less! Still, we can’t find anything. By now just about everyone knows what the person looks like. Only nobody seems to be able to dig him up. Not even the Nosferatu. Talk about frustration! Why Alessandro consulted Jason and Coraline in this matter I don’t know. Rather, I don’t know why he didn’t consult me, seeing as the damn thing already made its way to the press and I had to hold it back. So I am involved. No reason to keep me out. Then again, for the time being it’s best to assume he’s got good reason to do so.
Besides, he gave me some insight into something else: Some idiot dug up two Brujah, slain by the prince. Pretty much a breach of the second tradition. Not much of a surprise that it was two Malkavians who were stupid enough to do this. They’ve become a liability. Hopefully they will be dealt with soon.
We’ve had some high profile guest from the Nosferatu this night. Styx by name. All I remember of him is that I found myself kneeling way too often. As for his clanmates… Thomas, for some odd reason, didn’t know about proper signing of the guestbook, which brought Sprakle’s holy wrath down upon him. He got lectured. And Mascha still is irritated by Jasons letters. Or so she tells me. Says she had expected more of him. Something more intimate I guess. Less superficial. I’m somewhat worried that he picked the wrong woman this time. She’s not to be underestimated.
Thomas wasn’t the only one with bad conduct. J.B. approached me, asking me whether Alena ignored him and his clan on purpose. Which I in turn told her, after telling J.B. that I would do so. Seems that instead of keeping this small she prefers to pick a fight.
Three musketeers… Yeah, right. I’ve got my very own interpretation of that. None of which fitted what people said that night.
What shocked me was to hear that Alessandro once had something going on with Coraline. Like – I don’t know. Having her over or something. It’s a strange thought, considering what’s happening these nights…
The thing that did not happen is for Freddy to show up! The bastard keeps all of us waiting! If he’s trying to grab Alessandros seat, then this is the wrong way to do it, bro. Not that I’d support him. Hell no.
Karsten seems to have a bone to pick with Sanders. Can’t say I disagree with him much. She’s been unreliable before and now she’s pointing fingers at him. At the same time he’s interrogating J.B. about the position of sheriff. I’m not sure if I’d want to see him there. He’s got too much of an ego for the position. For any position, I think.
But then, that is the jester speaking. Turns out some people do realize that the role of jester brings some very useful privileges, such as the liberty to speak freely. In this society that is not to be taken lightly. Surprise fact: Baumgartner, of all people, is aware of the dangers in that.
Jason… Seems chipper as ever. He’s probably working his ass off, trying to accomplish something for a place he doesn’t even like much. I’m trying to show support. Something tells me he’s not so well right now. Then again, I’m not very good at reading people. Too distracted, most of the time.
Comming up next: compose another article on behalf of Shiraz and write a letter to the countess. Oh joy.
