Humans. It gets harder by the day to understand them. The captain sent us on a special mission, asking beforehand who would stand with him and who wouldn’t. I can’t see why he would ask such a question in the first place.
The mission itself sounded easy enough: Get inside a secret service base and retrieve a file. Which went smooth enough until Berendsen figured out that the base wasn’t what we thought it to be. Cerberus. She gave the command to open fire immediately. And we did.
There were mechs everywhere, cutting off our way back out of that base. So we blasted through the walls, taking everyone and everything out that tried to block our way. Debriefing should be very interesting on this one.
What I still don’t understand is the captain’s tendency to assign me to group missions. I thought we were past that point. Yet he keeps doing it. I am starting to think he has an aim with that. Unfortunately he puts everyone at risk this way. And then there was that drell bellowing orders out of a sudden. Since when is he in command of anything? Must have missed that part in the briefing. Maybe there really is something wrong with the translation software in my omni-tool.
