Two Souls, entwined

All letters written in this blog have never actually been written by the character. They are merely placed for personal amusement and as to gain better insight into the character and his background.

My dear Nathaniel,

Germany, is it? I remember you went there several times before. But this time the place you picked is very much unlike you. But you were always like that. Going when your friends called. You have so many of those. Money can buy a lot of things. You never learned to see the difference. And Diana… Her influence on you has been far from favorable. Your mother still holds her dear in her heart. But I should sleep better at night, knowing you had nothing to do with her. Which is also why you keep her around, I take it.
However, I am glad to see you are making new friends. Though this Philippe is of low birth. No connections to speak of. I wonder why you would bother to keep him company. Why would someone like you be nice to someone like him? I take it this is another attempt to anger me. You will not succeed.
Then there is this man from India. At least in him you have shown that you still know the worth of pedigree. Yet, though his lineage may be noble, his country is not. Economically it may be of worth some time. But befriending one of their tribe chieftains makes little sense to me. Besides, you know what his people did. You always know details like that one. This time you might have gotten yourself into more trouble than you can handle. Yes, he has ben polite. Yes, he appears like a little kitten. Soon though you will learn that all cats have their claws. This one will rip you apart, son. If you do not learn your lesson swiftly, I fear for your life. Make no enemies with him. And make no friend in him either. Every smile fades at some point. You have something he wants. You know that.
You have never listened to my advice. Why would you do so now.
Godspeed.
